Featured CEC Legacy Donor The Livable World Legacy Society: A Bright Light for the Future
Community Environmental Council's (CEC) Livable World Legacy Society is a community of generous and visionary donors who have included a gift to CEC in their will, trust, or estate plan. Members of the Legacy Society have decided to invest in the incredibly important work of CEC-laser focused on managing the existential threat of climate change-to help ensure that every person in our region, from the most vulnerable to the most affluent, will inherit a healthy planet that allows them to live a fulfilling life.
Members of the Livable World Legacy Society are energized that CEC, since its founding in 1970 in the wake of the calamitous Santa Barbara oil spill, has accumulated an enviable record of environmental achievements. With their gaze firmly focused on the future, members want to build on this remarkable history, cementing a foundation of financial sustainability that will ensure CEC can continue to pursue its critical mission with undiminished vigor for many decades to come. Legacy gifts to CEC are designed to build an endowment that will produce a steady and reliable flow of financial sustenance.
Legacy gifts can take many different forms: simple bequests in a will, charitable trusts, beneficiary designations of life insurance or IRAs, assignment of homes or other real estate, donor advised funds, charitable IRA rollovers, and many more.
